Fiber Brands
The fiber of the carpet you choose can give you the assurance
that your carpet will stay beautiful. Look for brand names that
you know and trust.
Gulistan offers the best styles in Stainmaster®, Wear-Dated®,
and Dacron® “branded” Type 6,6 nylon. Purchasing a “branded” style
means that your carpet is backed and warranted with a warranty
package from the fiber producer.
Ask your retailer for a copy of the warranty & care brochure -
read it thoroughly so there will be no “Surprises” later - keep it
with your receipt for easy retrieval for general information on
how to care for your carpet, or should a stain occur. Carpet care
and maintenance is the key to a carpets’ enduring beauty
Yarn Twist
The yarn twist affects the look and durability of carpet. It
refers to the number of times that a fiber strand is twisted
together in a one inch length of carpet yarn.
Twist contributes to the “pebbly-type appearance” of frieze
styling, which normally offers the highest twist level ranging
from 5.0 to 7.5. Texture and saxony plush styling has less twist
which accounts for the softer, casually-elegant look; and both
range from 3 to 5.
A tighter (higher) yarn twist level provides “Enhanced
Durability”. So choose the better within your preference of style.
Density
A high density factor will give you the assurance of many years
of lasting comfort and beauty. Density refers to the amount of
pile yarn in a cubic yard.
The density factor denotes the “thickness” of carpet and how
tightly the face yarn is packed together. In simper terms... When
you run your hand across the top of the carpet, density is the
“Thickness” you feel.
A high density factor means better texture retention,
performance, and comfort level under foot. So choose the better
with your preference of style.
Performance Ratings (PAR)
For your further assurance, we submit each residential carpet
to a 20,000 foot traffic test.
Each carpet is independently reviewed and rated for “surface
appearance change” better know as “texture retention”.
The scale is 1 to 5.
1 - 2.5 is good
2.5 - 3.7 is excellent
3.7 - 5.0 is superior
Ask your retailer for the Performance Rating (PAR) of your
carpet selection.
